*** BACKUP TYPE ***
Use the arrow keys to choose which of the three kinds of
Backup you wish to make.
Full Backup: Includes all files in all directories of the
selected hard disk.
Incremental Backup: Includes all files changed since the
last partial backup and appends them to last full backup.
Marks files as backed up after completing the backup. To
restore your hard disk, you would restore the last full
backup, which would prompt you to follow with the subsequent
incremental backups.
Differential Backup: Includes all files changed since the
last full backup. Does not mark files as backed up after
completing the backup. To restore your hard disk, you would
restore the last full backup and then the last differential
backup.
Guidelines for choosing Backup Type:
--Use full backup once a week.
--Use incremental backup daily if you typically use many
different files from one day to the next.
--Use differential backup daily if you typically use the
same small group of files daily.

*** PREVIEW BACKUP ***
Lists all the files and directories on your hard disk with a
triangle before filenames you have selected for back up.
A triangle before a directory- or subdirectory-name indicates
that you have selected at least one file under that heading
for backup.
To preview your backup in detail, you can move around in the
list as follows:
--Use the arrow keys (up,down, left, right) to move item
by item.
--Use <PgUp> and <PgDn> to move up or down a full page.
--Use <Home> to move to the first item on the list.
--Use <End> to move to the last item on the list.
--Use <Tab> (also called <Indent>) to move between the
directory list and the file list.

*** START BACKUP ***
Select Start Backup from the main menu to invoke the Backup
Progress screen.
The Backup Progress menu offers three choices:
Estimate Start Backup Quit
Estimate tells you
--approximate number of diskettes required for this
backup
--approximate time required.
Start Backup begins the backup.
Quit returns you to the main menu.
Notes about the Backup Progress screen:
Change diskettes when the prompt at the bottom of the
screen tells you to.
While FASTBACK PLUS works, the red light on your floppy
disk drive does not go out. You can safely change diskettes
whenever the program says to, even if the red light is on.
Watch the screen for statistics related to the progress
of your backup.
As long as the diamond-shaped Buffers marks change, your
backup is going correctly.
Press <Esc> to stop the backup.
*H_re_rs
*** RESTORE SOURCE ***
Allows you to tell the program where to find data for your
backup. Use the same name for the Source that you used for
the Destination in the backup you are working with. The
submenu displays choices based on information you provided
during installation.
*H_re_wo
*** WRITE OVER ***
Specifies what to do if FASTBACK PLUS finds an existing file
on the hard disk with the same name as a backup file.
The submenu offers you three choices:
Never:
FASTBACK PLUS never overwrites an existing file on the hard
disk. Use this when you do not want the Restore to change
existing files on the hard disk.
Older Files Only:
FASTBACK PLUS compares the dates of the existing file and the
backup file and leaves the more recent file on the hard disk.
Use this to keep the latest version of files if you must
restore an incremental backup out of chronological order.
Always:
FASTBACK PLUS will always replace the disk file with the
backup version.
Default: Older Files Only.
*H_re_dp
*** DIRECTORY ***
Choose whether to restore files to their original directories
or to the default directory.
The submenu offers two choices:
Create Only If Needed:
Restores files to their original directory and subdirectory
paths. Use this choice, for example, to restore a re-
formatted hard disk so that it has the same organization it
had in the backup set. FASTBACK PLUS will create directories
and subdirectories as needed.
Use Default Directory
Restores files to the current directory on the selected hard
disk, usually the directory from which you started FASTBACK
PLUS. If you started FASTBA
